Lenders ยท Asset-based lending

Fewer deals. All inside your box.

You know what you write. We hold your criteria on file, in your words, and introduce only borrowers that fit them, after we have reviewed their collateral and information. Your underwriters spend their time on deals that can close.

Who this is for

Banks' asset-based lending groups, credit funds, family offices and specialty finance companies that write asset-based facilities of $5 million or more, typically in the $10 million to $250 million range.

Our lender relationships cover a range of mandates, from senior revolvers to second-lien and last-out structures, across industries and geographies. We describe lenders by type and never name them.

What you tell us

Your mandate, once, in writing. We update it when it changes.

  • Facility size range, and hold size if you syndicate or participate
  • Structure: revolver, term, first or second lien, last-out
  • Collateral you will lend against, and advance rates you typically use
  • Industries and geographies you will and will not consider
  • Minimum EBITDA or revenue, if any, and sponsor or non-sponsor preference
  • Concentration and ineligible-category limits
  • Field-exam, appraisal and reporting requirements
  • Pricing floor and fee expectations you want us to screen against
  • Who at your institution receives introductions

What you receive

  1. A fit note first. A short, anonymised description of the opportunity against your criteria. No company name.
  2. Your yes or no. If it is a yes, the borrower and you both sign the NDA.
  3. A screened package in an access-controlled data room: financials, receivables and inventory data, concentration, existing debt and liens, and our own view of ineligibles and where the borrowing base is likely to land.
  4. A clear route to a term sheet. You underwrite and decide. We manage the process and the timetable.

Every view of the room is logged. Nothing goes to you from a borrower that has not been verified.

How we screen borrowers

  • Identity, ownership and authority to borrow
  • Collateral that exists and is reported (we review the aging and inventory data as an examiner would, then flag the weak points)
  • Existing liens and intercreditor conflicts
  • Use of proceeds and timing
  • A realistic view of whether the borrower can meet reporting requirements

We do not replace your underwriting. We reduce the number of introductions that fail at the first hurdle.

Fees

Your engagement agreement sets out what you pay and when, before you sign. In short: a platform fee for access to screened deal flow, and a per-transaction fee when a loan we introduced is originated. A platform fee is not a guarantee of volume.

Questions

Do you commit capital or take credit risk? No. We introduce. You decide and fund.

Is the borrower exclusive to you? No. The borrower may talk to other lenders, and so may you. We introduce only where your criteria fit.

How do you keep a borrower's information safe? NDA first, an access-controlled room, personal links with emailed one-time codes, a watermark on every page, and a log of every view.

What if a borrower does not fit exactly? We say so in the fit note, or we do not send it.

Can we change our criteria? Any time. We apply the new criteria to subsequent introductions.
